What? You have never heard of it? Well, neither had I.
Here is the info I got from Wikipedia.
The first ever International Drag Day was held on July 16th 2009.
The man behind the holiday is Adam Stewart, who created the event because he "saw that there was no such day or event on an international platform in which we celebrated drag artists"
He launched the event via his Fan page for Drag Queens on facebook in which it gained significant interest
Guidetogay.com became to official media partner allowing the event to reach ha far greater audience, especially in Australia where the Stonewall Hotel held a big event for the day.
